My mom told me when she was 9 her principal let all the children go home from school - teachers, everyone was crying. She went home where her parents were home crying watching their black and white tvs. Everything seemed to sit still in those days. I can only imagine what it felt like, the head of our state, a promising young president assassinated. The president and also symbol of our nation. A lot of people say that marked the end of innocence. I can only imagine what it was like in the 60s/70s with so much rapid change.
